All educational institutions have the task and function of doing ta’lim (teaching), tadris (learning), ta’dib (politeness) and tarbiyah (nurturing). This was revealed by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa. Khofifah admitted that the four concepts of education are implemented with the aim of forming humans who are morally good as well as smart and right.
According to Khofifah, when in a boarding-based pesantren, the tarbiyah or nurturing process can run more intensely. Then Ta’dib, or the process of civilization or politeness can be maintained, introduced and practiced more intensely.
“Therefore, the hope is that when there are professionals from various sectors, strengthening in terms of politeness or civilization is very important. Including the strength of parenting is also important,” she said.
The four items of this education format, said Khofifah, if packaged in education in pesantren become an institution that can present Islam rahmatan lil alamin. That is, Islam that drips and sows peace and love for all nature. That is, building harmonious relationships between humans and humans as well as between humans and nature.
Khofifah invites santri to sow love, build peace, build unity, and strengthen brotherhood. “This is part of human relations with humans. Stay away from violence, build mutual love between people,” she said.
